  5th project meeting

Project meeting from 21st to 25th May at Prestonpans/Scotland

Press release:

This is a school development programme called “Using ICT to support and enhance Teaching and Learning” This project began in 2005 and involves schools from Germany, Luxemburg, Spain, Romania and Scotland. The project involves students and teachers visiting each other’s countries to exchange ideas and project work. Themes have included “Myths and Legends”, “The Art of John Bellany”, “Famous people in each country” Students are also able to meet and chat online between visits.

These meetings are very important for the development of the project. The exchange allows students and teachers to experience each other’s cultures and observe good practice in the use of ICT, which can then be disseminated in the schools.

This week 9 teachers and 11 students from the partner centres have been visiting East Lothian. The programme has included visits to the Scottish Parliament and eLive –ICT Conference. A Scots Night was held in the school and all the students have participated in a Digital Animation Course with Oscar Stringer, a well-known film maker to produce their own movies, using plasticine models in the style of Wallace & Grommit.

The group have met with East Lothian’s MSP, Iain Gray and the Director of Education, Alan Blackie, who both recognise and value the importance of European cooperation in Education.
